Welcome to our family genealogy web site. This is a joint effort between my daughter, Clare, and me. Clare is also responsible for the design of this web site.

Special thanks are due to Jim Coward and Eric Williams who did most of the research on the Barrow branch of the family. They have also supplied many of the photos featured in the Photo Album section.
We also wish to thank the staff at the County Records Office in Stafford for their help and advice.

We have based the genealogy around my great grandfather, Thomas Williams, who was born in the Parish of Gnosall, in Staffordshire, in 1847. Our initial efforts have been concentrated on Thomas's ancestors, but we are now planning to investigate Thomas's siblings and his children. Thomas's second child, James Williams, is my grandfather. James married Mary Ann Foster McMillan in 1873; they had a family of thirteen children! We plan to research this part of the family tree in some detail.
